In a significant drug enforcement operation, Mississippi authorities have struck a blow against the illegal drug trade, seizing a deadly cocktail of narcotics and arresting a suspected gang member. On Thursday, October 9th, in Moss Point, agents from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) executed a search warrant that led to a substantial drug seizure and the arrest of Linquin Frank Reid, a 45-p-year-old man with alleged ties to the Bloods street gang.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of a substantial amount of illegal substances, including 442 grams of cocaine, 128 grams of fentanyl, 261 counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl, and smaller quantities of crack cocaine and marijuana. Three handguns and an undisclosed amount of cash were also recovered. Reid now faces a litany of charges, including multiple counts of drug trafficking, possession of controlled substances, and firearms violations.
This successful operation highlights the ongoing collaboration between various law enforcement agencies. The MBN was assisted by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Pascagoula Police Department, and the Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team, which comprises multiple local police departments and the George County Sheriff's Office.
"Operations like this send a clear message," said Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. "We will not tolerate those who profit from endangering our communities with deadly drugs." This statement underscores the commitment of law enforcement to combat the pervasive issue of drug trafficking and its devastating impact on society. The arrest and seizure are a testament to the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation in the ongoing battle against illegal narcotics.
