Andhra Pradesh's Green Revolution: Bio-Ethanol Plant Launch

In a significant move towards sustainable agriculture and economic growth, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu unveiled a state-of-the-art bio-ethanol plant in Nellore district, marking a new era for the region's farmers and the environment. The event, held at the Nandha Gokulam campus in Edagali village, showcased the government's commitment to farmer welfare and green initiatives.

The Chief Minister praised the project, emphasizing its positive impact on farmers. The plant, spread across 24 acres, can produce 200 kilolitres of grain-based ethanol daily, with a substantial 340-crore investment. This facility, a brainchild of the Vishwa Samudra Group, aims to bolster farmers' incomes by purchasing damaged or broken rice, a common issue in the region. By converting this agricultural byproduct into ethanol, the plant offers a sustainable solution, reducing waste and providing an additional income stream for farmers.

Vishwa Samudra Group Chairman Chinta Sasidhar's vision is evident in this project, which is part of a larger 450-crore socio-economic initiative. The bio-refinery will create direct employment for 250 individuals and indirectly benefit over 300 more. Moreover, it will source 15,000 tonnes of broken rice monthly from local rice mills within a 250-km radius, fostering strong community ties and ensuring a consistent market for farmers.

The inauguration also included the opening of the Nandha Gokulam Life School and the Nandha Gokulam Save The Bull Cause, emphasizing the event's holistic approach to community development. With local politicians and officials in attendance, the launch signifies a united front in supporting Andhra Pradesh's agricultural sector and environmental sustainability. This initiative promises to revolutionize the region's economy, offering a brighter, greener future for its farmers and residents.
