Massive Ganja Haul in Bhadradri-Kothagudem Bust

In a significant blow to the illegal drug trade, a joint operation by the Task Force and Aswaraopet police has led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a substantial 222 kg of ganja. This operation, conducted on Jangareddygudem Road in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district, sheds light on the intricate web of ganja smuggling in the region.

The apprehended suspects, Ungarala Sarin Kumar and Babar Khan, were intercepted while transporting the contraband in a car. Their journey, however, was cut short by the vigilant authorities, who acted on credible intelligence. The ganja, sourced from a dealer in Visakhapatnam, was destined for Nagpur, Maharashtra, indicating a well-established supply chain. The operation's success is a testament to the effectiveness of inter-agency collaboration in combating drug trafficking.

The gang's modus operandi involved a pilot vehicle, an Innova SUV, which facilitated the transport. Despite this tactic, the police's swift action resulted in the capture of two gang members, while four others remain at large. The accused, Pangi Srinu, Md. Firoz, K. Santhosh, and Md. Imtiaz, have evaded capture and are subjects of an ongoing manhunt.

With the case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the authorities are now focused on bringing the remaining culprits to justice. This operation underscores the persistent efforts of law enforcement agencies to disrupt the illegal drug trade, which often fuels criminal activities and poses a significant threat to public safety. The battle against drug trafficking is far from over, but each successful bust brings us closer to a safer and healthier society.
