Hyderabad Auto Driver's Sinister Plan Foiled by Brave Girl

In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Hyderabad's Old City, a young girl's quick thinking and bravery thwarted an attempted kidnapping. On Tuesday, the Mirchowk police arrested 24-year-old auto driver Syed Shabbir Ali, who had lured an 11-year-old girl into his vehicle with a deceitful promise.

The incident unfolded around 4:15 pm near Armaan Hotel on Panjeshah Road. Shabbir, a resident of Murtuza Nagar, approached the girl, claiming to know her father and offering her a ride home. Unsuspecting, she accepted, unaware that a young boy, a regular passenger, was already in the auto. After dropping the boy at Malakpet, Shabbir's true intentions became apparent. He informed the girl of his plan to take her to an undisclosed location and instructed her to undress, a demand that alerted her to the danger. As the auto slowed in traffic, she seized the opportunity, jumping out onto the road and escaping with minor hand injuries.

A vigilant woman riding behind the auto witnessed the girl's escape and swiftly took action, escorting her to the Malakpet police station. Meanwhile, locals apprehended Shabbir and turned him over to the authorities. During interrogation, he confessed to his abhorrent scheme, intending to abuse the girl. The police registered a case under various sections, including sexual harassment, stalking, and kidnapping, and produced Shabbir before the court, where he was remanded.

This incident underscores the critical need for community vigilance and education. The Mirchowk police have urged parents to educate their children about stranger danger and to remain alert. As the investigation unfolds, the community's swift response and the young girl's courage serve as a powerful reminder of the collective strength in safeguarding our neighborhoods.
