Hyderabad Auto Driver's Dark Scheme: Kidnapping Foiled by Brave Girl

In a chilling incident that highlights the dangers lurking on Hyderabad's streets, a young girl's quick thinking and bravery thwarted a potential kidnapping attempt. On Tuesday, the Mirchowk police arrested 24-

year-old Syed Shabbir Ali, an auto driver, for his sinister plan to abduct an 11-year-old girl from the bustling streets of Panjeshah in the city's Old Quarter.

The incident unfolded around 4:15 pm when Shabbir, a resident of Murtuza Nagar, spotted the girl walking alone near Armaan Hotel. Posing as a familiar acquaintance, he offered to escort her home, a proposal the unsuspecting girl accepted. Unbeknownst to her, a young boy was already in the auto, a regular passenger Shabbir claimed. As they drove towards Malakpet, the girl's unease grew, and her questions about their destination were met with disturbing instructions to disrobe. Sensing imminent danger, she seized the moment when the auto slowed in traffic and leaped out, escaping with minor injuries.

A vigilant woman riding behind them witnessed the girl's daring escape and swiftly took her to the Malakpet police station. Meanwhile, locals apprehended Shabbir and turned him over to the authorities. During interrogation, Shabbir confessed to his devious plan, intending to lure and abuse the girl. He now faces charges of sexual harassment, stalking, insulting modesty, and kidnapping under the BNS Act.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and community action. As the police urge parents to educate children about stranger danger, the swift response of the young girl and the community members who came to her aid demonstrates the power of awareness and quick thinking in preventing potential tragedies.
