In a shocking revelation, a 17-year-old boy's arrest has exposed a sophisticated drug trafficking network spanning Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The juvenile, apprehended by the Special Operations Team (SOT) and Ghatkesar Police in Hyderabad, was found carrying a staggering 5.1 kg of hashish oil, valued at 1.15 crore. The young boy, a resident of Alluri Sitharamaraju district, had an unassuming appearance, making him an ideal courier for the drug syndicate. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu revealed that the teenager was working under the direction of Debendra Jhodia, a key supplier from Chitrakonda, Odisha. Jhodia, still at large, allegedly sourced the hashish oil and entrusted the boy with its transport, a tactic to evade law enforcement scrutiny.

The boy, having left school early, was enticed into this dangerous world, collecting the consignment from Odisha and travelling by train to Hyderabad. His journey ended abruptly near Ghatkesar Railway Station, where police seized two polythene packets of hashish oil and a mobile phone from his backpack.

Commissioner Babu's statement underscores the gravity of the situation, warning the public about the severe penalties under the NDPS Act, which can include up to a decade in prison or even the death penalty. As the search for the main accused, Jhodia, continues, this case serves as a stark reminder of the pervasive reach of drug trafficking and the urgent need for heightened vigilance and proactive measures to protect vulnerable youth from exploitation.
