The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad witnessed a remarkable display of discipline and precision as 190 officer trainees proudly marched towards their graduation ceremony. This diverse group, comprising 174 Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers and 16 foreign officers from Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives, marked the culmination of their 45-week-long Phase I training with a grand parade.
The ceremony, filled with the rhythmic beats of drums and the echo of marching commands, was a testament to the rigorous preparation these officers have undergone. Among them, 65 female officers showcased their skills, with Tamil Nadu cadre probationer Anjit A Nayar leading the nine-platoon Dikshant parade. The event recognised individual excellence, with Nayar receiving the Director's Trophy for Best Officer Trainee (Phase I) and Kirti Yadav being awarded the prestigious IPS Association Sword of Honour for Best Outdoor Probationer.
Addressing the parade, SVPNPA Director Amit Garg highlighted the academy's commitment to producing well-rounded officers. He emphasised the curriculum's alignment with modern policing challenges, including forensics, cyber-investigation, and coastal security, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for SMART policing. The Border Security Force (BSF) Director General, Daljit Singh Chawdhary, in his address, urged the officers to embrace their role as guardians of the nation's freedom, combining technological prowess with empathy. He stated, "Terrorism, cybercrime, and information warfare require smart responses, but trust is built through compassion and accessibility."
With their Phase I training complete, the 77th batch of IPS Regular Recruits will now embark on practical attachments with the Army and Central Armed Police Forces, followed by district training, marking their transition from trainees to active duty officers.
