Pakistan's ANF Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking

In a significant blow to drug trafficking networks, Pakistan's Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized a substantial quantity of illicit substances, totaling over 205 kilograms, with an estimated street value of more than Rs 18.5 million. This success comes as a result of a series of meticulously planned operations conducted across the country, demonstrating the ANF's unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug trade.

The crackdown, which took place on October 19, 2025, involved seven strategic interventions, leading to the arrest of six drug suppliers and the recovery of a diverse range of narcotics. The operations spanned various locations, from international airports to courier offices and inter-provincial checkpoints, showcasing the ANF's comprehensive approach to disrupting the supply chain.

At the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, ANF officers intercepted a potential international drug smuggling attempt. Two passengers, bound for Jeddah on an Umrah pilgrimage, were found to be carrying a total of 167 capsules in their abdomens, containing a cocktail of heroin, ice (crystal meth), and more heroin, collectively weighing over 1.2 kilograms. This incident highlights the innovative and desperate measures drug traffickers are willing to employ.

The ANF's efforts also extended to domestic operations, resulting in multiple significant seizures. These included the recovery of 120 kilograms of hashish and 30 kilograms of opium from a vehicle near the Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza and various quantities of hashish and opium from different locations in Quetta, Bannu, and Karachi.

As the ANF continues its relentless pursuit of a drug-free Pakistan, these operations serve as a stark reminder of the pervasive nature of the drug trade and the ongoing battle against it.
