Strengthening Indo-U.S. Ties Through Tiger Triumph 2025

The fourth iteration of the India-U.S. tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise, Tiger Triumph, is set to take place from April 1 to 13, 2025. This exercise aims to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Indian and U.S. armed forces in disaster response scenarios.

The primary objective of Tiger Triumph is to strengthen interoperability in HADR operations and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for a Combined Coordination Centre (CCC). This centre will facilitate seamless collaboration between the Indian and U.S. Joint Task Forces (JTF) during operations.

The exercise will feature significant participation from both nations. The Indian contingent includes naval and air assets such as the Indian Naval Ships Jalashwa, Gharial, Mumbai, and Shakti, alongside troops from the 91 Infantry Brigade and the 12 Mechanised Infantry Battalion. U.S. forces will be represented by the USS Comstock and USS Ralph Johnson, as well as Marines from the U.S. Marine Corps Forces (Pacific).

The exercise will begin with a Harbour Phase in Visakhapatnam (April 1-7), followed by a Sea Phase off the coast of Kakinada, where Maritime, Amphibious, and HADR operations will take place. A joint medical camp, involving the Indian Air Force’s Rapid Action Medical Team and the U.S. Navy medical team, will provide vital humanitarian aid. Tiger Triumph 2025 underscores the growing strategic partnership between India and the U.S. in disaster response and humanitarian operations.
