In the wake of a devastating earthquake in Myanmar, India has launched Operation Brahma, a humanitarian mission aimed at providing urgent aid to the victims. This operation exemplifies India's commitment to its Neighbourhood First policy and the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which means "the world is one family."

Operation Brahma is spearheaded by the Indian Army, with a 118-member medical task force from the Shatrujeet Brigade Medical Responders at the forefront. The team, equipped for advanced medical and surgical care, will establish a 60-bed Medical Treatment Centre in Mandalay, focusing on trauma and emergency surgeries.

In addition to medical support, India has dispatched two naval ships carrying relief supplies. The first ship delivered 10 tonnes of aid, while the second followed with 40 tonnes. The Indian Air Force has also been mobilized, sending aircraft with additional relief materials and personnel. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent an 80-member team to assist in search and rescue operations, helping to locate survivors trapped under rubble.

India’s quick response under Operation Brahma highlights its role as a reliable regional partner in times of crisis. This mission continues the country’s tradition of offering timely support in disaster-stricken areas, reinforcing its commitment to humanitarian aid and regional stability.
