Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Backs Union Budget, Focuses on Development Over Politics

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has strongly endorsed the Union Budget 2025, emphasizing its alignment with the long-term vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Speaking at the 16th Finance Commission meeting in New Delhi, Naidu highlighted the importance of collaboration between the central and state governments, rejecting political disputes in favor of development-oriented governance.

A Vision for Andhra Pradesh’s Growth

Naidu reaffirmed Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to working with the central government for holistic development. He dismissed concerns about whether the state had received enough benefits, stating, "We have got everything. One should be in the right place at the right time with the right people—then things happen automatically." His optimism stems from his extensive experience in implementing reforms, particularly in infrastructure, IT, and governance.

Key Growth Drivers for Viksit Bharat 2047

The CM outlined four key growth engines that will drive India’s economic progress:

  1. Agriculture – Strengthening rural livelihoods and food security.
  2. MSMEs – Boosting small businesses for employment generation.
  3. Investments – Attracting domestic and global investments.
  4. Exports – Enhancing India’s role in the global economy.

He also stressed the need for modern investment models, advocating for a “public-private-people’s partnership” to ensure inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Technology as the Future

A long-time advocate of digital transformation, Naidu expressed excitement about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other deep technologies shaping the future. Recalling his pioneering work in IT policy three decades ago, he emphasized that technology is the driving force behind modern economies.

A Development-Oriented Budget

Naidu praised the budget’s focus on four key groups—poor, youth, farmers, and women, aligning with his own “10 principles of development” for Swarna Andhra Pradesh. He also highlighted India's growing global stature, citing investor confidence at Davos and predicting that Indians will become "the wealthiest community by 2047."

Rebuilding Andhra Pradesh

Addressing the 16th Finance Commission, Naidu outlined the structural issues inherited from Andhra Pradesh’s bifurcation and previous economic mismanagement. He reaffirmed his commitment to rebuilding the state and contributing to nation-building, making Andhra Pradesh a key player in India’s growth story.
