The first meeting of the new council of ministers is expected to approve major initiatives, including:

Revamping NCR Planning Board for Better Regional Coordination

The new government is keen on revamping the National Capital Region (NCR) Planning Board, which comprises chief ministers from Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, along with the Delhi Lieutenant Governor (L-G). The board is chaired by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and aims to boost infrastructure and mobility in the region.

Supreme Court’s Push for Green Cover Expansion

In a parallel development, the Supreme Court on Monday appointed the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, to draft an action plan to enhance Delhi’s green cover. The court has granted FRI one month to submit a detailed affidavit with timelines and funding requirements. The plan will include a massive tree plantation drive to counteract the loss of green spaces in the capital.

BJP Legislative Party Meeting to Announce CM Pick

The next Delhi CM’s name will be officially announced on Wednesday at the BJP legislative party meeting. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a victory rally at the BJP headquarters, emphasized that the party’s leadership across NCR states would help accelerate Delhi’s infrastructure growth.

Four-Pronged Strategy to Clean Yamuna

Delhi L-G V K Saxena has unveiled a three-year plan to clean the Yamuna river, deploying trash skimmers, weed harvesters, and dredge utility craft for large-scale cleaning operations that began on Sunday.
