AAP Criticizes BJP Over Delay in Naming Delhi CM

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its delay in announcing the next Chief Minister of Delhi, claiming the saffron party lacks a credible leader to govern the capital. Addressing a press conference, AAP leader and acting Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP of failing to present a clear vision for Delhi’s future.

Atishi pointed out that despite securing a decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP has yet to name its Chief Minister or cabinet. She criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly not trusting any of the 48 BJP MLAs elected in the state. "It's been ten days since the results were announced, yet the BJP has not formed the government. This delay proves that they have no face capable of leading Delhi," she remarked.

The recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections saw the BJP win 48 out of 70 seats, ending AAP’s decade-long rule. In contrast, AAP, which had dominated with 62 seats in 2020, was reduced to just 22 this time. However, AAP claims that BJP's inability to declare a leader highlights internal conflicts and a lack of a governance roadmap.

Atishi further alleged that BJP’s only agenda is to exploit Delhi's resources rather than work for its people. She questioned how the party plans to govern effectively when it has not even named a leadership team. The political tension between AAP and BJP is expected to escalate as BJP finalizes its leadership choice.

With the capital awaiting a new government, all eyes are now on the BJP to see when it will announce its Chief Minister and begin governance.
