Massive Ganja Haul: 500 kg Intercepted in Cross-State Operation

In a significant drug bust, a joint operation by the EAGLE Force and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has disrupted a major ganja trafficking attempt, seizing a staggering 506 kilograms of the substance. This operation, launched on credible intelligence, highlights the coordinated efforts of multiple agencies to combat the illicit drug trade across state lines.

On Tuesday night, the RNCC Khammam unit of the EAGLE Force, in collaboration with NCB Ranchi, intercepted a truck on the Ranchi-Rourkela Road in Simdega. The vehicle, a 10-tyre TATA Heavy Goods Vehicle, was transporting the massive ganja consignment from Janpati GP in Odisha's Malkangiri District to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The truck's diversion via the Biju Expressway, a less monitored route, was not enough to evade the vigilant authorities.

The accused, Naseem Kamruddin, a 30-year-old from Haryana, has been arrested, while the intended receivers, Mushthaq Khan and Arif, also from Haryana, remain at large. This operation underscores the growing sophistication of drug trafficking networks, utilizing cross-state routes and strategic timing, such as Diwali night, to avoid detection.

EAGLE authorities have urged the public to actively participate in the fight against drug trafficking by reporting suspicious activities. With the successful interception of this large consignment, the RNCC Khammam and NCB Ranchi teams have demonstrated the effectiveness of inter-state collaboration in tackling drug-related crimes. The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the entire network, sending a strong message to potential drug traffickers.
