India’s healthcare and pharmaceuticals industry has
experienced a 62% year-on-year growth in jobs by the end of March, with a 7%
increase in hiring over the past three months, according to the jobs platform
foundit. The healthcare sector has already generated over 7.5 million jobs,
foundit, formerly known as Monster APAC & ME, reported.
V Suresh, CEO of foundit, emphasized that India’s
healthcare industry is entering a new phase driven by technology and talent.
"Our latest data highlights a sharp rise in demand for roles in AI,
digital health, and informatics, reflecting a sector-wide shift towards
innovation and patient-focused care," he said.
The report revealed that entry-level hiring has increased
by 25% over the past year, with a particular surge in demand for telemedicine
roles. Additionally, the rise of health tech startups has created a need for
professionals in roles such as data entry, customer support, and clinical
assistants.
At the mid-career level, demand for healthcare IT
professionals has grown by 31%, particularly those with expertise in digital
transformation tools like electronic health records (EHR) systems. At the
senior level, hiring in health tech has seen a 28% uptick, especially for
leadership roles such as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Medical
Officer (CMO).
Foundit also noted a 24% increase in demand for regulatory
affairs and compliance specialists, driven by stricter regulations in the
pharmaceuticals and digital health sectors. Additionally, roles in business
development and sales leadership have grown by 26%, with a focus on health
insurance and telemedicine services.
