Hyderabad Rider's Costly Wrong Turn: 50,000 Rupees in Fines

Hyderabad's roads are known for their bustling traffic and strict traffic regulations, but one rider's story has left authorities and citizens alike in disbelief. In a shocking revelation, a two-wheeler rider has accumulated over Rs 50,000 in unpaid traffic fines, with the majority stemming from a single violationdriving on the wrong side of the road.

The Rachakonda police were stunned to discover that a single two-wheeler had racked up nearly 50 unpaid challans, totaling a staggering Rs 58,895. The rider's persistent habit of taking a wrong route at a U-turn near Gurramguda, under the jurisdiction of the Vanasthalipuram traffic police station, led to this extraordinary situation. What's more surprising is that all these violations occurred at the same location within a mere five-month period.

Traffic inspector Bhupathigattu Mallu shed light on the incident, explaining that the rider's bike, with registration number AP37 DS 3639, was stopped during a routine vehicle check near Hastinapuram. The police then discovered the extensive list of pending challans, all captured by the ever-watchful automatic CCTV cameras. These cameras, installed at every U-turn, have been instrumental in enforcing traffic rules and catching habitual offenders.

The rider's case serves as a cautionary tale for all motorists. Despite numerous enforcement drives and awareness campaigns, wrong-side driving remains a persistent issue, endangering both riders and other road users. As the authorities continue to seize vehicles and issue fines, the message is clear: adhering to traffic regulations is not just a legal requirement but a vital aspect of ensuring road safety for all.
