ISRO Showcases India's Space Vision at ESTIC 2025 Launch

In a significant step towards fostering innovation in space technology, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) hosted a curtain-raiser event at its Bengaluru headquarters, offering a glimpse into the upcoming Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025). This initiative, led by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), aims to unite diverse stakeholders, from researchers to industry leaders, under one roof to propel India's scientific advancement.

The three-day conclave, scheduled for November in New Delhi, promises to be a hub of collaboration and knowledge exchange. With 11 thematic sessions, it will explore emerging technologies, each session a stepping stone towards the ambitious vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. Dr. V. Narayanan, ISRO's chairman, emphasized the role of ESTIC in fostering an innovation-friendly environment, stating that it will help nurture India's research and development capabilities. He also highlighted ISRO's dedication to excellence, capacity building, and strategic partnerships, ensuring India's progress in space exploration and related fields.

The event also saw Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre director A. Rajarajan, who chairs the Space Technologies Thematic Committee for ESTIC, outline the conclave's broader vision. He stressed the importance of empowering young leaders and women entrepreneurs and fostering industry-academia collaborations. With 13 central ministries involved, ESTIC 2025 is a significant government-led initiative to consolidate efforts in deep-tech innovation, fostering a startup-friendly environment and positioning India as a global scientific leader. The curtain-raiser event, attended by key figures like Science Secretary M. Ganesh Pillai, senior scientists, and media representatives, marks the beginning of a journey that promises to shape India's scientific trajectory for decades.
