• Special Drive Against Traffic Violations: Starting March 3, 2025, the Hyderabad Traffic Police initiated a special drive targeting violations such as wrong-side driving, irregular number plates, and the use of unauthorized sirens and multi-toned horns.   Consideration of Odd-Even Vehicle Regulation: In December 2023, discussions were held regarding the potential implementation of an odd-even vehicle regulation and promotion of carpooling to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. While no official decision has been made, these measures are under consideration.

  1. Hyderabad Traffic Police Launch Crackdown on Helmetless Riders and Wrong-Side Drivers

  In November 2024, the Hyderabad Traffic Police initiated a special drive targeting helmetless riding and wrong-side driving. This action was prompted by an increase in fatal accidents involving motorcyclists without helmets. Violators faced fines and potential suspension of their driving licenses. ​

  2. Traffic Restrictions Imposed for MMTS Phase-II Works

  Starting April 3, 2024, traffic restrictions were implemented for 90 days to facilitate the construction of the MMTS Phase-II project, particularly the extension of RUB 1A & 1B at Allugadabavi on the Inner Ring Road. Motorists were advised to expect slow traffic and consider alternative routes.

  3. Traffic Advisory for Hanuman Jayanti Procession

  5. Operation ROPE: Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments

  Since September 2022, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have been conducting "Operation ROPE" to eliminate obstructions caused by illegal parking and encroachments. By April 2023, thousands of cases were filed against violators, aiming to facilitate safe pedestrian movement and improve traffic conditions.
