Intel and IOC Launch AthleteGPT to Assist Athletes and Enhance Viewing Experience for 2024 Paris Olympics

Introducing AthleteGPT

AthleteGPT is designed to provide athletes with real-time information, helping them navigate the Olympic venue and comply with rules and regulations effortlessly. The chatbot is powered by Intel's Gaudi accelerators and Xeon processors, utilizing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to deliver accurate and timely responses.

Advanced Technology for Athlete Assistance

Intel's collaboration with the IOC showcases the potential of AI in sports. AthleteGPT's RAG-based solution ensures that athletes have access to critical information on demand, making their participation in the Olympics smoother and more efficient.

Intel and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) have developed a chatbot named AthleteGPT for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This chatbot, powered by Intel Gaudi accelerators and Xeon processors, will assist athletes by answering their queries, helping them navigate the venue, and ensuring they comply with rules. AthleteGPT uses a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) approach to deliver on-demand information.

Intel's processors will also power 8K resolution live streaming experiences, providing low-latency, high-definition streaming across 32 sporting events. Intel, a Worldwide Olympic Partner since 2017, aims to make AI accessible and improve the experience for both athletes and fans.

Through our partnership with the International Olympic Committee, we are demonstrating our dedication to making AI accessible. By embracing an open and collaborative ecosystem, Intel is transforming ways to help our athletes and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with our customers,” said Justin Hotard, Intel’s Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Group, in a statement shared with the press.

Beyond aiding athletes, Intel’s advanced processors will power 8K resolution live streaming experiences for fans. This will ensure low-latency, high-definition streaming across all 32 sporting events, providing an unparalleled viewing experience. Intel has been a Worldwide Olympic Partner since 2017, consistently contributing cutting-edge technology to enhance the Olympic experience.

In related news, the Indian table tennis coach expressed that the nation is not just content with qualifying for team events at the Paris Games, indicating high ambitions for the competition.
