In a significant move to revive and protect the rich cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh, the state government has sanctioned a substantial Rs 3.85 crore for temple development in the Atmakur constituency. This substantial investment aims to restore the ancient grandeur of village temples, ensuring their survival for generations to come. The plan includes the construction and renovation of numerous temples, with a focus on both rural and remote areas. A sum of Rs 5 lakh each has been allocated for 77 village temples, while 17 others are already undergoing renovation. Furthermore, the Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam scheme ensures the continuity of daily rituals, with Rs 10,000 deposited directly into priests' accounts at 59 temples.

The minister mentioned the commencement of foundation works for two significant temples, the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple in the Srisailam forests and the ShivaKeshava Temple on the Penna River's banks.
