In the wake of a tragic bus fire claiming 19 lives in Kurnool district, Telangana's transport authorities and Hyderabad traffic police have launched a swift and comprehensive crackdown on private bus safety violations. The surprise inspections, conducted across the city on Saturday, uncovered a myriad of safety breaches. From obstructed emergency exits to expired fire extinguishers, the violations were both alarming and widespread. The LB Nagar and Ramoji Film City routes witnessed the seizure of two private buses, with officials citing the absence of safety mechanisms and emergency hammers as critical risks to passenger safety. The inspections also revealed that some buses operated without valid permits or road tax, further exacerbating the situation.
