In a significant move to preserve Andhra Pradesh's rich cultural heritage, the state government has embarked on an ambitious project to restore ancient temples, aiming to bring back their former glory. This initiative, led by Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, promises to breathe new life into these historic structures, many of which have fallen into disrepair.

Minister Anam laid the foundation for the reconstruction of the Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Kavaliyedavalli village, a symbolic start to the extensive restoration project. He revealed that approximately 30% of the state's 27,000 temples are in a dilapidated state due to neglect and various other factors. The Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, has promptly responded to this issue by allocating funds for temple reconstruction, demonstrating the government's commitment to cultural preservation.

The government's strategy includes taking direct control of temples located in remote areas, such as hillocks and forests, to ensure their protection. Furthermore, the Minister announced a plan to construct village deity temples, allocating Rs 5 lakh for each structure. Atmakuru constituency has already received Rs 3.5 crore for building 77 such temples, showcasing the project's scale and potential impact.

The Minister's visit to Kavaliyedavalli village also included laying the foundation stone for a water tank under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a testament to the government's holistic approach to development. This comprehensive initiative aims to not only restore cultural landmarks but also improve the overall quality of life for residents in these areas. With such a dedicated approach, the future looks promising for Andhra Pradesh's ancient temples and the communities surrounding them.
