In a significant development in the fight against drug trafficking, Hyderabad's anti-narcotics unit, EAGLE, has coordinated with local police to detain three notorious drug peddlers. These individuals, with a history of NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) trafficking, have been placed under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, to curb their illegal activities.
Suhas Dada Dayagude, a resident of Solapur district in Maharashtra, has been implicated in six NDPS trafficking cases. Duggempudi Shiva Shanker Reddy, from Kothagudem district, has an even longer rap sheet, with eight cases to his name. Sapavath Venkanna, hailing from Mahbubabad district, has also been a repeat offender, transporting and selling substantial quantities of NDPS drugs. Their detention is a result of the concerted efforts of the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE), as confirmed by its director, Sandeep Shyandilya.
The city of Hyderabad has also witnessed other notable incidents. A special team has been assembled to investigate a deep fake complaint filed by Tollywood actor K. Chiranjeevi. The police are taking these matters seriously, especially with the increasing use of technology, which has led to celebrities and public figures becoming victims of deep fakes on social media.
In another development, over 100 rowdy sheeters and suspects have been bound by the police in the Jubilee Hills area to maintain peace during the upcoming campaigning and polling on November 11. This proactive measure ensures the safety and security of the election process. The police have taken a stern stance, warning these individuals to refrain from any unlawful activities, with ACP P. Murali Krishna emphasizing the legal consequences for non-compliance.
