As Cyclone Montha approaches, Andhra Pradesh is on high alert, with a massive operation underway to safeguard lives and minimize damage. In a comprehensive statement, Minister for HRD, IT, Electronics, and Communications, Nara Lokesh, assured the public that the state is well-prepared, with an impressive 99% real-time accuracy in data and response coordination. This level of preparedness is crucial as an estimated 40 lakh people are at risk, primarily in the red-alert districts of Kakinada, Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna, Bapatla, Prakasam, and Nellore.

The government's top priority is to prevent any loss of life. Over 1,300 villages have been identified as high-risk, and a large-scale evacuation is in progress. Temporary shelters, equipped with essential supplies, have been established to accommodate the displaced residents. The state has also taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of vulnerable groups; 3,465 pregnant women have been relocated to secure locations with access to nutritious food. Schools have been closed, and their premises are being utilized as relief camps.

The state's response includes a well-coordinated rescue and relief effort. With NDRF, SDRF, and reserve teams on standby, the Army ready for deployment, and numerous wood-cutting and medical teams mobilized, Andhra Pradesh is leaving no stone unturned. The government has also pre-positioned thousands of electric poles and transformers for rapid infrastructure restoration post-landfall. The Roads and Buildings Department has readied earth movers, cranes, and vehicles to clear roads, ensuring swift access for relief operations.

With the Chief Minister conducting frequent review meetings and the Prime Minister's Office kept informed, Andhra Pradesh is poised to tackle Cyclone Montha head-on. The state's meticulous planning and comprehensive measures demonstrate a commitment to protecting its people and infrastructure.
