On the occasion of Dr. B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a series of key development projects in Haryana on April 14, while national leaders including Rahul Gandhi will pay floral tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution at Parliament.
In Haryana, PM Modi’s visit includes the inauguration of a commercial flight between Hisar and Ayodhya and laying the foundation stone of a new terminal at the Hisar airport. The Prime Minister will address public gatherings in Hisar and Yamuna Nagar as part of the celebrations.
Significantly, Modi will lay the foundation stone for a new 800 MW thermal power unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamuna Nagar. Reinforcing the government’s push for green energy, he will also launch a compressed biogas plant under the ‘Gobardhan’ scheme in Mukarabpur. Another key highlight of the day will be the inauguration of the ₹1,070 crore Rewari Bypass under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, aimed at boosting regional connectivity.
In Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, among others, will gather to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy at the Parliament premises.
Meanwhile, in Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders will convene to chalk out strategy for the upcoming Viswadar Assembly bypoll. This marks the first major initiative by AAP since the appointment of Gopal Rai and Durgesh Pathak as state in-charge and co-in-charge respectively. Following its performance in local body polls and plans to contest the 2027 Assembly elections independently, AAP aims to bolster its organizational base in the state.
In Telangana, the Congress-led government will pilot its new ‘Bhu Bharati’ land records portal in three mandals. The move seeks to replace the controversial ‘Dharani’ system of the previous regime and promises a more citizen-centric approach to land management.
