The political feud between Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavitha and JanaSena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan has reignited after Kavitha’s recent podcast reignited her long-standing criticism of the actor-turned-politician. Referring to Kalyan as lacking credibility, Kavitha revisited her controversial 2014 jibe where she had likened him to a comedian, calling him the “Brahmanandam of politics.”
In her podcast, Kavitha accused Pawan Kalyan of inconsistency, particularly regarding his stance on Hindi imposition. She implied that his political journey lacked clarity, citing his transition from left-leaning ideologies to Sanatan Dharma advocacy as contradictory.
This triggered a swift and sharp response from the JanaSena Party. The party’s official social media handle posted a counter video that indirectly labeled Kavitha as a “clown.” The video aimed to clarify Kalyan’s actual statements, emphasizing that he never supported Hindi imposition but merely encouraged people in South India to learn additional languages to enhance their adaptability and opportunities in a diverse country.
JSP accused Kavitha of distorting Kalyan’s words and misrepresenting his ideological evolution for political gain. The video also criticized her for focusing on personal attacks rather than engaging in constructive dialogue. JSP's supporters widely shared the video, positioning it as a strong rebuttal to Kavitha's claims.
The row reflects deeper political tensions between the two parties, especially as both are expanding their presence in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Pawan Kalyan’s increasing alignment with the BJP and his recent electoral moves have made him a significant player in regional politics, drawing more attention and criticism from opposition leaders.
This exchange signals a heating political narrative ahead of the upcoming elections, with both leaders using media platforms to rally support and sharpen their public image. The war of words may only intensify in the coming weeks, setting the stage for a confrontational political battle.
