In a significant crackdown on the illicit drug trade, excise enforcement teams in Hyderabad and Sangareddy districts have arrested six individuals and confiscated narcotics worth over 10 lakh rupees. This operation sheds light on the persistent issue of drug trafficking in the region and the authorities' efforts to combat it.

The raids, conducted across multiple locations, resulted in the seizure of substantial quantities of contraband, including hashish oil and ganja. The largest haul was made by the Sangareddy team, who intercepted 964 grams of hashish oil, valued at approximately 10 lakh rupees, being smuggled from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad. This operation, a direct response to a tip-off, underscores the crucial role of public cooperation in law enforcement. The accused, Anil Kumar Yadav, a repeat offender, was arrested and handed over to the Sangareddy excise station, along with the seized narcotics.

The State Task Force (STF) also played a pivotal role in disrupting the drug network. In Sikh Village, near Secunderabad, they seized 200 packets of ganja from an individual who admitted to sourcing it from Nagpur for sale in Hyderabad. Additionally, in Uppals Vijayapuri Colony, STF officers arrested four people and confiscated 325 grams of ganja, two vehicles, and four mobile phones. These coordinated efforts demonstrate the commitment of various law enforcement agencies in tackling drug-related crimes.

As the investigations continue, the authorities aim to dismantle the supply chain and bring those involved to justice. This operation serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and the need for sustained vigilance to ensure public safety and well-being.
