Trauma Therapy Transforms Lives in Hyderabad

In a groundbreaking initiative, counsellors from Bharosa and CDEW in Hyderabad are pioneering a new approach to healing trauma, drawing on the transformative power of Phyllis Krystal Psychotherapy Techniques. This innovative method, rooted in the Carl Jung school of psychotherapy, is offering a beacon of hope to survivors of child sexual abuse, rape, and domestic violence, enabling them to reclaim their lives and emotional well-being.

The Telangana Women Safety Wing has introduced this specialised training to enhance the emotional rehabilitation of trauma survivors. At the heart of this approach is the Phyllis Krystal Method, a technique that empowers individuals to connect with their higher consciousness, referred to as the 'Hi C', to unlock emotional freedom. "The goal is to provide counsellors with practical tools to help survivors process trauma gently," said ADG CID Charu Sinha, IPS.

This method employs symbolic visualisation and guided imagery, allowing survivors to release emotional blockages without the need for verbal retelling of traumatic events. Instead, they use mental symbols, simple yet profound images, to address specific psychological issues. For instance, the 'Maypole' exercise connects individuals with their higher guidance, fostering a sense of unity and safety. The 'Circle of Light' helps establish personal boundaries, while the 'Figure-8' symbolically releases control and dependency.

With its emphasis on self-reliance and inner strength, the Phyllis Krystal Method offers a unique and powerful toolkit for both counsellors and survivors, bridging the gap between psychology and the intuitive wisdom of the human spirit. This approach promises to revolutionise trauma care, providing a safe and effective path to healing and emotional liberation.
