In a significant blow to interstate drug trafficking, Prayagraj's Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has successfully dismantled a major operation, arresting four key players and seizing a substantial quantity of illegal substances. This operation, which took place near Dodamafi Turn in the Markundi area, highlights the ongoing battle against the illicit drug trade in the region.
On Wednesday, ANTF officers intercepted a smuggling attempt, confiscating 80 kilograms of ganja valued at a staggering Rs 40 lakh. The operation also led to the recovery of two mobile phones, Rs 3,310 in cash, and two four-wheeler vehicles, all of which were instrumental in the trafficking activities. The drugs were reportedly en route to Banda from Odisha, indicating a well-established supply chain.
Among those taken into custody were Ravi Shivhare, Satyaprakash Shivhare (alias Sonu), Harish Chandra, and Gangaram Kushwaha, all residents of Banda and Chatarpur. These individuals played pivotal roles in the operation, sourcing the contraband from Odisha and distributing it across Banda and neighboring towns. The bust underscores the ANTF's commitment to disrupting drug networks and safeguarding the community from the scourge of illegal substances.
The success of this operation is a testament to the ANTF's vigilance and proactive approach. With the seizure of a substantial drug shipment and the arrest of key players, the task force has significantly disrupted the supply chain. However, the ongoing challenge of drug trafficking requires sustained efforts and collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public. As the investigation unfolds, the ANTF's work will likely contribute to broader strategies to combat drug-related crimes and ensure a safer environment for the community.
