Hyderabad Drug Bust: Rs.1.2 Crore Hashish Oil Seized

In a significant operation, the Rachakonda Special Operation Teams in LB Nagar, Hyderabad, joined forces with the Abdullapurmet police to apprehend two drug peddlers, disrupting an interstate drug racket. This collaborative effort resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of Hashish oil, valued at a staggering Rs.1.2 crore.

The operation, which took place on Wednesday, led to the arrest of Pangi Keshava Rao, known as Kesha (40), and Jairam Khemundu (26), both from neighboring states. The police confiscated 20 kg of Hashish, three mobile phones, and Rs 870 in cash from the accused. The duo's illicit activities involved sourcing Hashish Oil from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, utilizing Hyderabad as a transit point to cater to buyers in Bengaluru.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu shed light on the investigation, revealing that the primary supplier, Krishna, from Alluri Sita Ramaraju District, Andhra Pradesh, remains at large. Keshava's childhood friend introduced him to the lucrative yet illegal drug trade. Jairam, too, became entangled in this web, and the investigation further uncovered Keshava's previous arrest in a NDPS case by the Anakapally Town Police in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused duo's modus operandi involved buying Hashish Oil at a low price and selling it to Bengaluru buyers at a markup of nearly ten times the original cost. This operation highlights the intricate network of drug trafficking, where a substantial quantity of Ganja, approximately 35 to 40 kg, is required to produce just one kilogram of Hashish Oil. The recent bust was triggered by a buyer from Bengaluru who placed an order for 20 kg of Hash Oil, leading to the arrests and the revelation of their supply chain.
