In a tragic turn of events, a routine Monday morning on the Chennai-Vijayawada National Highway turned into a scene of devastation as a speeding container lorry wreaked havoc near NTR Nagar and SVGS College Junction. This stretch of road, already notorious for its accident-prone nature, became the site of a horrific crash, claiming three lives and leaving three others fighting for theirs.

The incident unfolded when the massive 10-wheeler, barreling towards Vijayawada, veered out of control, attempting to avoid a motorcycle. In a terrifying sequence, the lorry plowed through stationary vehicles and pedestrians, leaving a trail of destruction. The North Traffic Station personnel swiftly responded to the emergency, initiating rescue operations and filing a case under relevant sections, including 304-A and 337 IPC, for causing death and injuries due to negligence.

Nellore district authorities, including SP Dr. Ajitha Vejendla, have emphasized the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures, particularly near SVGS College Junction, given the recent surge in accidents.
