Ashwini Vaishnaw Highlights Surge in Startups to 90,000 in Nine Years

Union Minister Lauds Startup Growth and STPI's Role in Boosting Rajasthan’s IT Sector

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the number of startups in India has surged to 90,000 over the past nine years, a milestone he attributes to the Modi government's vigorous promotion of startup culture. Speaking at the inauguration of the new Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre in Jaipur, Vaishnaw emphasized the central government’s ambition to transform Rajasthan into a leading IT hub.

The newly established STPI centre, located in Sitapura Industrial Area, is designed to support the growing demands of the IT sector and foster entrepreneurship within the state. Vaishnaw noted that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to position Rajasthan as a key player in electronics manufacturing, enhancing the region's role in the national and global IT landscape.

The event, held on April 13, 2023, was attended by notable figures including Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra and Somya Gurjar, Mayor of Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation. Vaishnaw's remarks highlight the ongoing efforts to bolster IT infrastructure and encourage cooperation between state and central governments to achieve these goals.
