The festival aimed to encourage innovative solutions for national challenges, fostering a reciprocal exchange of knowledge to benefit society. The event highlighted the role of science in empowering India's journey towards self-reliance.
A key feature of IISF 2020 was the "New Age Technology Show," organized by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). Over three days, this event spotlighted cutting-edge technologies like AI-ML, Data Analytics, AR/VR/MR/XR, IoT, ESDM, Blockchain, 5G, and Cyber Security, emphasizing their potential to make India a leading product nation.
During the inaugural session, Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General of STPI, noted that IISF 2020 would be the world's largest science and technology celebration, offering a platform for young innovators to develop groundbreaking solutions. Industry 4.0 technologies, he added, could transform research, innovation, and product development, driving economic growth.
Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director of IIT Kanpur, emphasized that emerging technologies like AI and Data Analytics would reshape manufacturing and supply chains, positioning India as a global leader in innovation over the next decade. The event also featured a showcase of AI and Data Analytics-based products by six promising startups, demonstrating the tangible impact of these technologies on various sectors.
