Hyderabad's SHE Teams Crack Down on Public Indecency

In a bold move to combat public indecency, the Cyberabad SHE teams have made a significant impact on the city's streets. In a recent operation, they conducted 128 decoys, leading to the apprehension of 79 individuals caught in the act of committing indecent acts in public spaces. This proactive approach sends a clear message: such behavior will not be tolerated.

The SHE teams, dedicated to ensuring women's safety, have been relentless in their efforts. They booked petty cases for the offenders and provided counseling to others, emphasizing the importance of public decency and respect. Additionally, they received 18 complaints from women, demonstrating their commitment to addressing various forms of harassment.

The teams' work extends beyond arrests. They facilitated the reconciliation of 30 couples by resolving family disputes at the Family Counseling and Centre for Development and Empowerment of Women (CDEW) centers. This initiative highlights a holistic approach to community well-being. Furthermore, their awareness programs reached 286 participants, educating them on critical issues such as human trafficking, cyberbullying, and child rights.

"We aim to create a safe environment where women and children can trust the police as their friendly protectors," said Cyberabad Deputy Commissioner of Police, K Srujana, emphasizing the importance of community engagement. The SHE teams' efforts in schools, such as the safety awareness session for grade three students, are a testament to their dedication to fostering a culture of safety and empowerment from a young age. This comprehensive strategy aims to create a lasting impact, ensuring that Hyderabad's public spaces remain safe and respectful for all.
