Cadila Pharmaceuticals and Indian Red Cross Launch CPR and First Aid Training for 50,000 Students

Cadila Pharmaceuticals, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society’s Gujarat State branch, has launched a major CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid training initiative aimed at equipping 50,000 students in Ahmedabad and Mehsana with vital life-saving skills. The program began on January 25, 2024, with a launch event at Adarsh Gyan Sagar School in Kadi, where over 3,000 students received training.

The training will continue until March 2024 and targets students from classes 9 to 12, addressing the growing concern over heart attacks and cardiac arrests in Gujarat. Dr. Bharat Champaneria from Cadila’s charitable arm emphasized the initiative's importance, stating that even saving a single life would mark the project’s success. The program also includes career guidance through Indrashil University, reinforcing its dual focus on health and professional development.

Dignitaries at the launch included Vinodbhai Patel, Dharmesh Shah, and Indian Red Cross Society representatives Nareshbhai and Manishaben Solanki. This effort reflects Cadila Pharmaceuticals' commitment to enhancing community health and underscores the importance of preparedness in emergency situations. The collaboration aims to create a significant impact on public safety and wellness by fostering essential emergency response skills among young students.
