Red Cross Open House Marks "March is Red Cross Month" and Launch of CPR Classes in Vero Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (MARCH 28, 2024) — The American Red Cross Palm Beach and Treasure Coast Chapter celebrated “March is Red Cross Month” with an open house event at their Vero Beach office. The occasion not only marked the beginning of certified CPR classes but also featured a range of community-focused activities, including a blood drive in collaboration with One Blood, free first aid training, and a seminar for small business owners on hurricane preparedness through the Red Cross Ready Rating program.

Eric Roby, Executive Director of the chapter, expressed enthusiasm for the community's support, highlighting the role of volunteers in driving the Red Cross’s mission. The event aimed to showcase the organization's daily efforts and attract new volunteers, while the introduction of local CPR certification classes promises to make life-saving training more accessible to residents.

Local officials, including Mayor John Cotugno and Indian River County Commissioner Susan Adams, were present to present a proclamation honoring volunteers and celebrating “March is Red Cross Month.” Attendees received information about various volunteer opportunities and services provided by the Red Cross, underscoring the organization’s commitment to community engagement and preparedness.

This event reinforces the Red Cross’s ongoing efforts to enhance community safety and preparedness while encouraging more individuals to contribute to its mission.
