Arunachal Pradesh Governor Urges Youth to Join Red Cross and Enhance Disaster Awareness

On World Red Cross Day, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K.T. Parnaik called on the state’s youth to actively participate in the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and contribute to its humanitarian efforts. The Governor, who is also the President of the IRCS Arunachal Pradesh State Branch, expressed his admiration for local volunteers and their initiatives, including blood donation camps, and hoped the occasion would inspire more young people to join the Red Cross movement.

In his address, Governor Parnaik highlighted the significance of the Red Cross, founded by Jean Henry Dunant, which operates globally to provide disaster relief, build community resilience, and alleviate human suffering. He emphasized the importance of the Red Cross’s mission to protect life and health and ensure respect for individuals.

The Governor also engaged with IRCS representatives at Raj Bhavan, urging them to involve more youth and increase awareness about disaster preparedness, first aid, health, sanitation, and the importance of blood donation. His message underscored the need for a proactive approach to disaster response and community service, aiming to strengthen the organization’s impact in addressing emergencies and supporting vulnerable populations.
