Hyderabad Police destroy seized drugs worth Rs 4.56 crore

The Hyderabad Police destroyed seized narcotic drugs worth ₹4.56 crore as part of the first phase of the 2025 Drug Disposal Drive. The disposal was carried out on Monday by the Drug Disposal Committee, under the supervision of Detective Department DCP N. Swetha.

A massive 1,285 kg of narcotic substances—all confiscated in various NDPS cases—were eliminated during this drive. The destroyed drugs included 1,585.9 kg of marijuana, 159.4 grams of MDMA, 6.4 grams of cocaine, 4.6 grams of ecstasy pills, 4,450 ml of hashish oil, 4 LSD blots, and other psychotropic items.

These narcotics were linked to 128 NDPS cases registered between 2019 and 2025 across 26 police stations in Hyderabad. Officials emphasized that the disposal followed strict legal and environmental protocols. The contraband was destroyed at GJ Multiclave (India) Pvt. Ltd., a certified biomedical waste management unit located in Edulapalle, Nandigama (Rangareddy district).

The Hyderabad Police noted that this is part of an ongoing effort to prevent misuse of seized substances and ensure transparent handling of NDPS-related cases. Last year, the police disposed of drugs worth ₹10.56 crore in two phases covering 326 cases, highlighting their continued commitment to combating narcotics in the city.
