As the year draws to a close, Hyderabad, the vibrant city of pearls, gears up for a cultural extravaganza. With three distinct festivals, the city promises to captivate audiences with a unique blend of art, literature, and theatre.
The Hyderabad Performing Arts Festival, an initiative by Ukiyoto Publishing House, is set to bring stories to life. Arjun Chaudhari, the visionary behind this festival, aims to showcase select book stories through the expressive medium of Kathak theatre dance. The festival will feature performances by Naadbhed Studio's dancers and a Bharatnatyam recital by K Sai Rithika. Book lovers and art enthusiasts will also witness three book launches, including a graphic novel and a coffee table book, offering a diverse literary experience.
The city's theatre scene will be further enriched by the Delhi-based Alchemist Live's Hyderabad Theatre Festival. Featuring renowned actor Naseeruddin Shah in 'Ismat Apa Ke Naam', the festival will also present 'Autobiography' and 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai'. Prabhu Tony, CEO of Alchemist LIVE, believes Hyderabad's cultural appetite is growing, and the festival aims to cater to this evolving energy.
Additionally, Mind Sutra, a multi-arts festival, will focus on wellness and community. Artist-curator Aman Preet Kaur and Surya Swapna, founder of Kathavani, aim to create a space for healing through art and storytelling. The festival will include workshops, panel discussions, and performances, catering to all age groups, with a special emphasis on children's well-being.
Hyderabad's December calendar promises a cultural renaissance, offering something for every art enthusiast. These festivals not only entertain but also contribute to the city's cultural identity, fostering a sense of community and creativity.
