In a significant operation, Hyderabad's Commissioner's Task Force Central Zone, in collaboration with the Saifabad police, has dealt a substantial blow to the city's drug trade, seizing a substantial stash of narcotics worth a staggering Rs 23.5 lakh. This successful raid highlights the ongoing battle against the illicit drug networks that threaten public health and safety.

The operation, which took place near the IMAX open ground, led to the arrest of three individuals, identified as Mohd Gulam Jilani, Feroz Bin Ali, and Suleman Khan. These men were caught red-handed, carrying a substantial quantity of drugs, including 100 grams of Brown Sugar and 1,350 grams of dry ganja, along with seven mobile phones and a motorcycle. The late-night apprehension was the result of vigilant police work, targeting suspicious activities in the area.

During interrogation, the accused revealed a well-organized supply chain. Jilani, the primary source, had travelled to Odisha, where he procured the drugs from an individual named Afsar. He then supplied the substances to Feroz and Suleman, who were selling them at a significant markup, underlining the lucrative nature of the illegal drug trade. Tragically, their activities had fatal consequences, with one consumer, Mohd Ahmed, overdosing on the purchased drugs.

This bust is a testament to the Hyderabad police's commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and protecting the community. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath's statement emphasized the importance of such operations, stating, "We will continue to target these networks, ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens."
