In a recent development, the unit apprehended 11 individuals for consuming ganja, shedding light on a pressing issue within the city's boundaries.

The operation, a proactive response to the growing concerns over drug abuse, involved on-the-spot drug testing using specialised kits. This swift action confirmed the presence of ganja in the detained individuals' systems. The group, comprising young adults aged 21 to 36, includes Azhar, Hari Prasad (Mintu), Mahesh, Kailashnath, Sravan Kumar, Tejaswi Raj Singh, Azharuddin, Aman, Adnan Ahmed, Sahit, and Sai Kiran. Their residential areas, primarily Secunderabad and Hakeempet, and diverse professional backgrounds, from corporate offices to local businesses, highlight the pervasive nature of this social challenge.

The HNPS, adopting a comprehensive approach, ensured the presence of parents or guardians during counselling sessions, emphasising the importance of support systems in the rehabilitation process.
