The commissioner expressed concern over the increasing complaints of harassment, particularly the practice of demanding money during house visits and celebrations. The meeting also addressed the internal conflicts within the transgender community, which have escalated into law-and-order situations and, tragically, fatal incidents. Additional DGP Sinha introduced the 'Pride Place,' a dedicated system under the Women Safety Wing, designed to address and resolve issues faced by transgender persons. The platform aims to provide a safe space for the community to seek help without fear. The event concluded with a message of support from the police department for genuine welfare initiatives and a commitment to the upcoming comprehensive policy for transgender welfare.

With an estimated 50,000 transgender individuals in Telangana, the government's efforts to ensure their social and economic upliftment, including access to welfare schemes and employment opportunities, are crucial steps towards an inclusive and just society.
