Alarmingly, 22 drivers had BAC levels between 301 mg/100 ml and 550 mg/100 ml, posing an extreme risk to themselves and others.

Cyberabad Police have reiterated the severity of drunk driving, emphasizing the potential for fatal accidents. Offenders causing such accidents will face stringent penalties, including up to 10 years' imprisonment and fines under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. This recent drive is part of a broader strategy to address the issue, as evidenced by the disposal of 385 drunk-and-drive cases in courts last week, resulting in a mix of fines, jail terms, and social service penalties.
