The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (HNEW), in a joint operation with Langar House police, arrested five individuals and confiscated a staggering 5 kilograms of hash oil and an equal amount of ganja, along with various assets totaling Rs.70 lakh. The mastermind behind this operation, Vykunta Rao, alias Balu, had established a sophisticated supply chain. Hailing from Srikakulam, Rao had prior convictions, indicating a persistent involvement in criminal activities. He sourced the drugs from Odisha at low prices, utilizing a supplier, Krushna Jalla, and Paul Khila, both natives of the same state. Rao's distribution network was intricate, employing delivery agents to sell the drugs in small sachets across Hyderabad and Cyberabad, ensuring high-profit margins. Rao's innovative packaging methods, such as using small paper rolls for ganja and pet bottles for hash oil, facilitated discreet distribution.

The investigation reveals a complex web of operations, with Rao utilizing virtual phone numbers and operating during specific hours to avoid detection. The seizure of six mobile phones and cash during the raid provides crucial evidence for further inquiries. With cases registered under the NDPS Act, 1985, the authorities are now delving deeper to uncover the full extent of this drug network.
