Mahesh Babu Foundation Saves Child with Heart Surgery

A Lifesaving Intervention

The Mahesh Babu Foundation has facilitated a critical heart surgery for a nine-year-old girl from West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, offering her a renewed chance at life. The procedure, conducted at Andhra Brain and Heart Hospital in Vijayawada, addressed a congenital heart defect.

Background of the Case

Pilli Varshita, from Kumudavalli village in Palakoderu Mandal, was born with a ventricular septal defect. Despite initial medical assurances that the condition would resolve naturally, persistent health issues necessitated surgical intervention by age nine.

Financial Barriers Overcome

Varshita’s father, Vijayakumar, a painter with limited financial resources, faced significant challenges in funding the surgery. The Mahesh Babu Foundation stepped in after being contacted through a local intermediary, ensuring timely medical support.

Collaborative Medical Effort

Following diagnostic tests at Andhra Brain and Heart Hospital, the surgery was successfully performed two days prior to the family’s statement. The foundation’s partnership with expert medical teams underscores its commitment to pediatric cardiac care.

Community and Gratitude

Vijayakumar expressed profound gratitude to the Mahesh Babu Foundation for its pivotal role in his daughter’s recovery. Additional support of ₹10,000 from Palakoderu Sub-Inspector Ravivarma further aided the family’s efforts.

Ongoing Philanthropic Impact

The Mahesh Babu Foundation, established by the renowned actor, has funded over 4,500 pediatric heart surgeries, collaborating with Andhra Hospitals and Rainbow Hospitals. This case highlights its mission to support underprivileged children with critical medical needs.
