In a significant operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police have dealt a heavy blow to cross-border drug smuggling, arresting seven individuals and seizing a substantial quantity of narcotics and weapons. Among them, Judgebir Singh, Jaspal Singh, and Dawinder Singh have prior criminal records, including attempted murder, Arms Act violations, and previous cases under the NDPS Act.

The investigation, initiated with the arrest of Judgebir Singh and the recovery of 225 grams of heroin, quickly unraveled a larger conspiracy. Digital forensics and subsequent arrests revealed a well-coordinated network utilizing social media for communication. The accused couriers were found to be in direct contact with Pakistan-based handlers, who directed drug drops across various districts in Punjab.

DGP Yadav emphasized the importance of this operation in the ongoing efforts to curb international drug trafficking.
