Secunderabad Gears Up for Aerial Spectacle, Traffic Changes

The skies above Secunderabad are set to transform into a vibrant tapestry of colors as the city gears up for the International Kite and Sweet Festival. This three-day extravaganza, from 13th to 15th January, promises to be a sweet affair, both literally and metaphorically, with a unique blend of cultural performances and culinary delights. However, the Malkajgiri police have issued a traffic advisory, urging citizens to brace for potential travel disruptions during this festive period.

The Parade Grounds, a historic venue in Secunderabad, will be the epicenter of the festival, attracting enthusiasts from all walks of life. As the festival unfolds, the surrounding roads are expected to witness a surge in congestion, particularly between 10 am and 10 pm. The police have identified several key intersections, including CTO Cross Roads, Plaza Junction, and Tivoli Junction, where vehicle movement may be regulated or diverted to manage the anticipated crowds. Motorists are advised to exercise patience and plan their routes wisely to avoid significant delays.

To accommodate the expected influx of visitors, special parking arrangements have been made at various locations, including the Parade Grounds, Gymkhana Exhibition Ground, and the Sports Authority of Telangana State premises. A shuttle service will cater to the transportation needs of visitors, connecting Dhobighat to the festival grounds. Ride-hailing services are also expected to play a significant role, with designated pick-up and drop-off points at strategic locations like Paradise Metro Station and Sweekar Upkar Junction.

"We request citizens to cooperate with the traffic personnel and follow the advisory for a smooth festival experience," said a spokesperson from the Malkajgiri Traffic Police. As Secunderabad prepares for this international event, the city's residents and visitors are advised to stay informed, plan their travel, and embrace the vibrant festivities while navigating the temporary traffic adjustments.
