Telangana's Drug Bust: Rs 8 Lakh Seized, 3 Arrested

In a significant blow to drug trafficking in Telangana, the state's dedicated anti-narcotics force, EAGLE, has successfully apprehended three individuals and seized a substantial quantity of illegal substances. The operation, conducted in collaboration with local police, highlights the ongoing battle against the drug trade and its potential impact on the youth.

The Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement, or EAGLE Force, executed two meticulously planned operations in Hayathnagar and Begumpet, leading to the arrest of two drug peddlers and a woman allegedly acting as a courier. The first case unfolded in Hayathnagar, where Bhansilal, a 22-year-old chaat stall owner, and his helper, Yogesh, were found to be involved in methamphetamine consumption and distribution. The authorities recovered 2.6 grams of meth, valued at Rs 13,000, from Bhansilal's residence, with the trio having already consumed a significant portion of the drug.

In a separate incident, Mamata Digal, a 37-year-old housemaid from Navi Mumbai, was intercepted at Begumpet Railway Station. She was found carrying 16 kilograms of ganja, worth Rs 8 lakh, in her briefcases. Mamata allegedly fell prey to a Mumbai-based peddler's promise of easy money, transporting the contraband from Bhubaneswar on multiple occasions.

The successful operations underscore EAGLE Force's commitment to eradicating the drug menace in Telangana. By targeting both street-level peddlers and interstate suppliers, the force aims to disrupt the supply chain and protect the state's youth from the devastating effects of drug abuse. As the search for the absconding peddlers continues, the public's vigilance and cooperation remain crucial in this ongoing battle.
