Andhra Pradesh's Ganja-Free Revolution: A Landmark Achievement

In a significant milestone in the battle against illicit drug cultivation, Andhra Pradesh has successfully eradicated ganja farming, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE). This achievement was proudly announced by EAGLE's head, Inspector General of Police Ake Ravi Krishna, who confirmed that the state is now entirely free of ganja crops.

The EAGLE team, in collaboration with various government departments, including Tribal Welfare, Agriculture, Police, and Revenue, has effectively prevented ganja cultivation in the tribal areas of Andhra Pradesh. This collaborative approach has proven instrumental in tackling a problem that has long plagued the region. The recent rally and awareness program in Vijayawada, jointly organized by EAGLE, Aster Ramesh Hospitals, and the NTR Commissionerate Police, served as a powerful platform to celebrate this achievement and raise awareness among the youth.

Addressing the gathering, IGP Ravi Krishna issued a stark warning, revealing that international drug smugglers are increasingly targeting Indian youth, employing drones to drop drug supplies in states like Kashmir and Punjab. His message to the students was clear: "If you are a patriot and live in India, don't fall prey to drugs and save the country from enemies." This statement underscores the broader implications of drug trafficking, linking it to national security and patriotism.

The event also highlighted the devastating health consequences of drug addiction, with Aster Ramesh Hospitals managing director Dr. Pothineni Ramesh Babu emphasizing the psychiatric and chronic health disorders suffered by many addicts. The hospital's commitment to counseling and rehabilitation was reiterated, offering hope for those struggling with addiction. As Andhra Pradesh celebrates this significant victory, the focus now shifts to sustaining this success and ensuring a drug-free future for its citizens.
