The state's top police officials have declared the complete eradication of ganja cultivation, a feat accomplished through the collaborative efforts of various government departments.

Speaking at a rally in Vijayawada on Saturday, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ake Ravi Krishna, who heads the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE), announced that Andhra Pradesh is now free from ganja cultivation. This announcement comes as a result of a joint operation involving EAGLE, Tribal Welfare, Agriculture, Police, Revenue, and other departments, which successfully targeted ganja cultivation in tribal areas. The IGP's statement is a testament to the effectiveness of inter-departmental cooperation in addressing this critical issue.

The event, organized by EAGLE, Aster Ramesh Hospitals, and the NTR Commissionerate Police, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and ganja. It brought together students, hospital staff, and police officials, emphasizing the need for collective action. Mr. Ravi Krishna warned that international drug smugglers are increasingly targeting Indian youth, employing drones to drop drug supplies in states like Kashmir and Punjab. His message to the students was clear: "If you are a patriot and live in India, don't fall prey to drugs and save the country from enemies."

The rally highlighted the commitment of various stakeholders in Andhra Pradesh to combat the drug menace. With the state's success in eradicating ganja cultivation, the focus now shifts to addressing the broader issue of drug trafficking and ensuring the long-term sustainability of these efforts.
